need a petite size instead

the dress was nice and even sturdier in the bodice than I expected. I am short, 5 foot 1 inch, and thought this style would still work for me as the skirt is ankle length and would come to floor. However the bodice was still too tall for my shorter figure and the waist ended up being too low and therefore the zipper would not close as it was at my hips instead. So I unfortunately I am having to return it.

Overall excellent except for bust

This was a "custom made" dress and almost everything was as expected - I loved the style, it was very good quality, and the waist and hips fit well. However, the darts of the bust landed about one inch above where the points of my bra were. I'm 74 years old, so I realize my chest is not as perky as it once was, but I've never had this happen with a dress before. I tried the dress on with four different bras, two of which provide very good support, but it still doesn't lie as nicely as it should and it feels tight under the arms. The dressmaker had inserted bra cups attached by three single threads on each side, so these were easily removed, but the result was still the same. Luckily, due to the style the dress looks okay, however, I'm not going to feel as good wearing this as I had hoped and this prevented me from giving the dress a 5 star rating.
